Located on the first floor of the Engineering Research Building 1, the Student Culture Lounge (SCL) is where we see students connecting with peers, collaborating on projects and engaging with partners from across campus. Members from OCCE and MI-LSAMP will be permanently located here, providing another opportunity for resources and support tailored to students’ needs in the near future.

The SCL offers a versatile communal area with lounge seating, TV monitors and a collaborative workspace for students to utilize. As we continue to enhance this space, we want our student community to be part of its growth and help us shape it into a place where every student feels a sense of belonging.

Mission: In support of Michigan Engineering’s efforts to improve the campus climate and positively impact our students’ college experience, the SCL aims to encourage connections by having a designated space to foster a student-centered culture of community, belonging and success.

Students are encouraged to check out the space during the semester and meet with our staff to discuss how OCCE can support them and their organizations. There is still work to be done as we continue to secure resources to make this space the best for our students and future Michigan Engineering students. Check back here for more updates on the SCL.
